Kwagala Jewelry Club

Kwagala Jewelry Club

The Kwagala Jewelry Club empowers single moms and widows with fair wages for their work through the sale of handmade crafts. In Luganda, the local language, Kwagala means love.  When you purchase a piece of their handmade jewelry, the women feel loved and supported.  It helps them to provide for their children that they love so much.

When a single mom has a way to care for her children and send them to school or provide medicine when they are sick, their children have few reasons to run to the street looking for better opportunities.

Currently, we are able to employ around 15-20 women throughout the year to make the jewelry. They are able to set their own prices and we cover all of the costs of the materials, ensuring that all of the money they receive is for their labor. It empowers them to dream for their futures and give their children opportunities that weren’t availed to them.

Visit our Store to see the gorgeous pieces that the women have made and shop away knowing your purchase is making a difference.
