Core Values

  • Integrity:
We aim to always do what is best for the boys. God has brought these boys to us and entrusted us with their safety and wellbeing, and we will keep their best interests in mind when making all decisions. We will always be good stewards with the generosity of our donors. (1 Corinthians 4:1-2)
  • Empowerment:
We believe in empowering our boys and the women we work with to develop a brighter, more sustainable future for themselves. Providing education, vocational training, and employment, our hope is for them all to become happy, fruitful members of their community. (Matthew 25:22-23)
  • Family:
At LOT2545, we believe in family. We empower our women’s group to care for their own families. In our home, we are all uncles, aunties, and brothers. We teach our boys the importance of family so that they may grow up and break the cycle of injustice for their own children. (Ephesians 6:4)
  • Service:
We are built on the foundation of serving the least of these in Uganda and dedicated to doing so, for whatever we did not do for one of the least of these, we did not do for him. (Matthew 25:45)
  • Justice:
True justice is a significant need in all of Africa, including Kampala. We seek justice for the oppressed. We seek to defend the fatherless and plead for the widows just as God calls us to do. (Isaiah 1:17, Micah 6:8)
  • Forgiveness:
We believe forgiveness for others and the forgiveness for themselves is one of the most important things for our boys to learn. All too often, when boys are living on the streets, making good choices means they might not eat. Sometimes old habits die hard and even make their way into the home. We teach and remind them constantly that God forgives us no matter what, and we strive to practice this forgiveness with them daily. (Ephesians 1:7, Matthew 6:15-15)
